General description
The director of sales and marketing position is responsible for planning and implementing sales, marketing and product development programs, both short and long range, targeted toward existing and new markets by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Develops and implements strategic marketing plans and sales plans and forecasts to achieve corporate objectives for products and services.
Develops and manages sales/marketing operating budgets.
Plans and oversees advertising and promotion activities including print, online, electronic media, and direct mail.
Develops and recommends product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share.
Achieves satisfactory profit/loss ratio and market share in relation to preset standards and industry and economic trends.
Ensures effective control of marketing results, and takes corrective action to guarantee that achievement of marketing objectives falls within designated budgets.
Oversees and evaluates market research and adjusts marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
Monitors competitor products, sales and marketing activities.
Establishes and maintains relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.
Guides preparation of marketing activity reports and presents to executive management.
Establishes and maintains a consistent corporate image throughout all product lines, promotional materials, and events.
Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales and marketing programs.
Directs market channel development activity and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals.

Position profile

Expert knowledge about marketing and related subjects (advertising, market research, consumer behavior, marketing analytics) culled from years of hands-on experience in the industry and in the marketing field.
Five (5) years of related experience with progressive management experience
Bachelor degree in Sales, Marketing or related areas
Skin care knowledge

Job Summary:

Assists the Director of Marcom to ensure all jobs of the Marketing Communications are completed according to standards and in a timely fashion.
Assist Director of Marcom to execute collateral and advertisement programs according to brand standards.
Execute public relations programs to achieve top-of-mind awareness.
Fulfills required tasks to obtain maximum results in accordance with the hotel’s objectives and Sales & Marketing directives.
Coordinates and maintain good rapport with all departments concerned.



Maintain filing on brand standard documents for all collateral items of various departments; filing on all collateral items by department; assist Director of Marcom on collateral items preparation.
To collect all advertising information (including price, circulation, target readers, contact) from target media channels according to communication plan.
Collect and maintain filing and soft copies on all advertisements for the hotel and competitors.

Public Relations

Coordinate and follow PR campaigns, media interviews and press releases for specific promotions, products and services.
Maintain the latest media list (TV, radio, print, internet) and provide suggestion on proper media for hotel to get exposure.
Proof reading for hotel press kits and all other release to public.
Execute media activities and releases for hotel activities and brand programs.
Maintain filing and soft copies on all media exposure for the hotel.
Get check-in list from Front Office everyday and prepare special arrangement for VIP for future media exposure if any.
Maintain hotel press kit and photo library including master shots and the hotel slide library.

Marketing Promotions

Assist on marketing promotions, brand or tactical related, with related partners.
Assist on promotional and media activities for the StarHotel partnership with UNICEF and any other sponsorship and promotional activities.


Assist on developing marketing materials (newsletters, flyers, direct mail etc) through distribution.


Provides support on a daily basis to the Director of Marcom.
Assists where necessary the Director of Marcom in areas related to hotel public relations.
Co-ordinates with Front Office in dealing with complaints from in house guests.
Prepares a weekly activity report.
Liaises with the Front Office Manager to ensure appropriate arrangements are prepared ahead of time for VIPs and other special attention guests’ arrivals.
Coordinates hotel site inspections.
Maintains the image of the Hotel.
Attends promotional events in the hotel.
Carries out other tasks as directed by supervisor.
Abides by the Hotel & Luxury Collection Employee Handbook.
Abides by both the hotel and Hotel & Luxury Collection policies and procedures.


Knowledge and experience in Internet and other major computer programs.
Ability to use Sales and Front Office computer systems.
Knowledge of local & international market.
Tertiary Qualifications in Marketing/Business/Communications
Min 2-3 years of experience in similar capacity with international chain hotels.
