Job Description of: Financial analyst
Responsible To: General Manager Finance
Scope of Position: Overall responsibility for analyzing financial statements/ KPIs of the company and implementation, monitoring and controlling of processes and procedures.
Co-ordinate with: Finance team, Suppliers, Corporate customers and other departments of the company.
Supervise: Directly : General Manager Finance
Indirectly : CFO
Competencies: Good communication skills, knowledge of Accounting Standard, taxation and government regulation, Good public relations skills etc. Should be able to work at minimum supervision and good organiser. Able to be flexible in order to attend to numerous requests and operational matters and able & willing to do extra work where necessary for day to day operation.
Skills and Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Thorough understanding of Accounting Principle
Knowledge of Statutory accounting principles
Must have extremely strong MS Excel skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to multi-task and work in a challenging fast paced environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Maturity, professionalism, and high level of discretion are required
Knowledge of procedural controls and data validation techniques required
Strong work ethic with a positive, can-do attitude Independent worker and analytical thinker with ability to conduct research, data analysis and resolve complex problems
Strong presence with the ability to interact with Senior Leadership
Financial modeling expertise a plus.
Monitor Job order variances, Product profitability, product margins, breakeven etc
Closely monitoring day to operational and revenue centers controls
Report, analyze, and ensure integrity of all financial information
Investigate and report to the Manager any inconsistencies or improprieties
Provide timely, relevant and accurate reporting & analysis of the results of the division’s performance against historical, budgeted, forecasted and strategic planning results to facilitate decision-making toward the achievement of the budget and strategic plan
Maintain and develop various financial models and standard templates distributed for use by all of Finance during the planning processes, ensuring quality, accuracy and focused analytic review
Support Financial Planning & Analysis business unit analysts by being the first point of contact for issues and questions
Demonstrate appropriate understanding / working knowledge of accounting principles and internal controls, and apply them
Describe an insightful use of financial analysis techniques, tools, and concepts, to provide practical counsel to business area partners and management to drive business results
Understand and facilitate the integration of business processes, people, and relevant technology, in order to identify, configure, and communicate useful information, and to provide practical business leadership to drive business decision making across the company
Identify non-value added processes within the department and seeks solutions
Closely monitoring and checking the monthly financial statements and review of variances
Good understanding about government tax and other compliances affecting business operations.
Ensure these compliances are met according to deadlines and guidelines laid down
Analyze processes and identify areas improvement with plan for effective implementation
Applies cost accounting methods to achieve accurate representation of cost center performance
Distributes and monitoring monthly comparison reports and cost center reports according to schedules Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports
Develop and implement various accounting procedures
Closely maintains and monitors the fixed assets system including purchases as well as disposals
Preparing annual budgets – assisting with departmental annual operational and capital expenditure budgets
